CF Montreal End Regular Season on a Strong Note!

CF Montreal’s last game of the season was nearly a perfect performance on the road. CF Montreal set a record for most wins on the road this year, along with a ton of other franchise records they set this year. Montreal were up 3-0 at half time, and never looked back.

First Half:

CF Montreal opened the scoring only 5 minutes into the game when Ismael Koné pressure the Inter Miami keeper into giving the ball to Dorde Mihailovic and Mihailovic put the ball into an empty net.

Only 3 minutes later, Montreal doubled their lead. Mihailovic turned provider when he sent in a cross that found the foot of Lassi Lappalainen who easily tapped in from less the 6 yards to make it 2-0.

In the 36th minute, Kei Kamara made it 3. Victor Wanyama picked out Kamara who still had plenty to do. He skipped past a defender and then put his shot in the bottom left hand corner to push CF Montreal’s lead to 3-0. A perfect first half by CF Montreal.

Second Half:

Montreal almost had a fourth goal in the 67th minute. Matko Miljevic took a shot from just outside the area, but his strike hit the post and stayed out.

The only real trouble that Inter Miami cause Montreal in this game came in the 85th minute. A cross was played into a dangerous area that Joel Waterman would put into his own net for the own goal.

Thankfully, that wouldn’t cost CF Montreal much as they would see out the rest of the game and win 3-1.

Wilfred Nancy has to be thrilled with his side’s performance, and how well Montreal finished the season. Next stop for Montreal is the playoffs, where they finished second in the east and will be taking on Orlando in the first round.
