AEW Dynamite Preview: 3 Year Anniversary!

This week’s Dynamite marks the 3rd year of AEW’s existence, and Tony Khan is treating us to a pretty amazing card. As of writing this, TK as already announced 7 matches for the card. The main events for this card is Danial Garcia teaming for the first time with his idol Bryan Danielson, and MJF is in a singles match for the first time since he’s returned.

Bryan Danielson & Daniel Garcia vs Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara

After last week’s segment involving the JAS, Daniel Garcia had the crowd losing their mind with the prospect of having him team up with Bryan Danielson. I didn’t realize AEW would give it to us so fast, but only a week later, we’ll be seeing this team.

We’ve been seeing this slow resentment from Garcia directed towards Chris Jericho since Jericho became the ROH champion. With Jericho cheating to score win after win, and not adhering to the ROH code of Honor. You can see it on Garcia’s face, he’s not about it. My only worry is, that Garcia will give Jericho another chance…

I see Daniel Garcia controlling the outcome of this match. Meaning that if Garcia stay’s true to Danielson, his team will pick up the win. Or on the flip side, if Garcia stays with JAS, obviously he’ll cost his own team the victory for Chris Jericho.

MJF vs Wheeler Yuta

This was a surprising one for me, when AEW had Wheeler Yuta go up against MJF. I’m not worried about what they could produce in the ring, it was more about “MJF is going to eat this guy alive on the mic”. In fairness to Yuta, he has held his own. He still needs work on the mic, but this is how you get better. And Yuta got a massive pop when he showed up behind MJF in the luxury box last week, so he’s obviously doing something right!

Unfortunately for Wheels, there isn’t a chance that MJF should lose this match. I think it should get a good chunk of time, because I’m sure these guys can deliver a good match together, but by cheating or some mean, MJF needs to come out of this the winner. I’d go as far to say, that MJF shouldn’t lose a singles match until late 2023.

The other 5 matches we have announced so far is a 6-women tag match involving Toni Storm, Athena and Willow Nightingale vs Jamie Hayter, Serena Deeb, and Penelope Ford. TNT champ Wardlow has his title on the line against the machine, Brian Cage, Darby Allin goes one-on-one with Jay Lethal, Luchasaurus will be in action, and Hangman Page takes on Rush. And of course, we’ll have the Acclaimed celebrating “National Scissoring Day”.

All this and so much more can be seen on TBS (TSN in Canada) every Wednesday night at 8PM EST.
