AEW Dynamite Preview: Both AEW and ROH Champion in Action!

After a very successful Grand Slam last week, we saw three new champions crowned. Two of them will be in action on this week’s AEW Dynamite. Jon Moxley will be up against a New Japan talent, and Chris Jericho will defend his newly won ROH title against a former ROH champion. We will also be hearing from MJF and from the newest AEW signing, Saraya.

Jon Moxley (C) vs Juice Robinson

Add this match to the list of matches that Tony Khan pulls out of the blue, and people lose their mind (this isn’t the only one…spoiler). This is a huge match up for both AEW and NJPW. There is only been a few wrestlers who hold wins over Jon Moxley in 2022, and one of them just happens to be Bullet Club’s Juice Robinson. Sure, the win was in a four way match for the IWGP US championship, but a wins a win.

I really can’t see Moxley losing this match, but even though this match is fairly predictable, I think it’ll be an entertaining match. Robinson is apart of the Bullet Club so I guess anything is possible, but I do see Mox winning this one.

Chris Jericho (C) vs Bandido – ROH Title Match

And here’s match number two of the night that is absolutely crazy to think is happening. Just the fact that Chris Jericho is currently the Ring of Honor champion in 2022 is wild enough but the fact that he’ll be taking on Bandido is huge!

Bandido, in my personal opinion, is one of the best talents not signed to either AEW or WWE. The stuff that this guy can do is incredible, and if you’ve never seen Bandido wrestler before, you’re in for a treat. While Jericho might not be the most agile wrestler anymore, I still think this will be a good match.

I think Bandido wrestling on AEW TV is a big deal, but unfortunately, I don’t see him winning in his AEW debut. Which is tough because if this match was happening 6 months from now, I’d be very happy with Bandido beating Jericho for the title.

As of writing this, those are the only two matches scheduled for Dynamite. Of course, more matches will come out in the coming days, but we do know two more segments announced for the show. We’ll hear from both MJF and Saraya, which is sure to be newsworthy on both counts.

All this and so much more can be seen on TBS (TSN in Canada) every Wednesday night at 8PM EST.
