AEW Dynamite Preview: The Return of MJF!

There was a lot that went down over the weekend, and we’re not just talking about All Out. There were 15 matches that took place on Sunday, yet it’s the media scrum everyone is talking about…We’re going to leave that topic alone, and focus on the in ring product. This coming Dynamite has two matches announced, and we’ll hear from the returning MJF!

Wheeler Yuta (C) vs Daniel Garcia – ROH Pure Title Match

Daniel Garcia has been a main focus on the last few weeks of AEW TV, and that continues once again tonight. Garcia is involved with two of the biggest names in the company with him being caught in the middle of his mentor Chris Jericho, and his hero Bryan Danielson. I’m sure both men will be impressed if Garcia walks away the new ROH Pure Champion.

Wheeler Yuta on the other hand, recently scored a big victory in a fatal fairway match on the go home show of Dynamite last week, but failed to win the Casino Ladder match at All Out. Yuta has defended the championship against Daniel Garcia before, and was victorious against the JAS member. The only deference this time, is this match is taking place in Garcia’s hometown of Buffalo.

I predict we will have a title change in this match. The hometown pop for Garcia should be huge, and it would add another layer of intrigued to the storyline between Jericho, Danielson and Garcia.

We Hear From MJF

The finish to the Casino Ladder match felt a bit underwhelming when Stokely Hathaway and his boys disrupted the match, to hand over the future title shot to a masked man. It did however pay off huge when at the end of the night it was revealed that MJF was in fact the masked man!

MJF received one of the loudest pops in recent memory, and the whole reveal of MJF was done perfectly in my opinion. But there are still a lot of questions surrounding this return, like is MJF back on his own, or is he involved with this faction that Hathaway has been building? Did he just pay for their services to get the title match? A lot of unanswered questions, but MJF will have a live mic in his hands once again!

There is also one more match announced at this time, and it’s a trios match between Death Triangle and Best Friends with Orange Cassidy.

All this and so much more can be seen on TBS (TSN in Canada) every Wednesday night at 8PM EST.
