It was not a game to reminder for CF Montreal. Not because it was a bad performance, but because nothing memorable happened. Don’t believe me? Go check the highlight package for this game on the MLS YouTube channel. Montreal controlled the better part of the game, but weren’t able to take advantage.
First Half:
The first half was very quiet and the first half chance of the game came to Romell Quioto at around the 30 minute mark. A corner was flicked on to Quioto, but his header went over the crossbar.
The only other real chance of the first half fell to Djorde Mihailovic. Mihailovic played in Lassi Lappalained who gave the ball right back to Mihailovic but his shot was really well saved by New York keeper Sean Johnson.
Second Half:
The best chance of the game came in the 55th minute. CF Montreal cleared the ball out of their area, that became a great pass to Romell Quioto. Quioto got past his man and it lead to a 2-1. Quioto then squared the ball to Mason Toye, and with the goal at his Merci, Toye put his shot high over the crossbar.
And that was it for this game. Three decent chances to talk about, but that’s it. There was one shot on target combined in this game. After the point here, CF Montreal still sit in third spot in the east.
CF Montreal’s next game will be a mid week clash with Columbus on Wednesday.
