AEW Dynamite Preview: FTR vs Young Bucks II

After an absolutely crazy weekend of wrestling, action continues this Wednesday in AEW. The most noteworthy news of the weekend in regards to AEW/ ROH, was the return of Samoa Joe! Joe made his shocking return at Supercard of Honor on Friday night, and we’ll hear from this Wednesday night. We’ll also have the new Ring of Honor tag teams champions putting their titles on the line, a tag team tables match, and a big time singles match up.

FTR (C) vs The Young Bucks – ROH & AAA tag team title match

FTR are coming off an unbelievable match at Supercard of Honor, that saw Dax and Cash beat the Briscoes and become the new ROH champions. That match had so much hype, that it’d be hard to live up to expectations, but the match did meet and exceed expectations in my match of the night.

Speaking of living up the hype, FTR vs Young Bucks is always a main event wherever it happens, and it just so happens that we’re getting FTR/ Young Bucks II for free on Dynamite. This match has it all on the line as FTR are putting both their newly won ROH tag titles on the line, but they’re also putting the AAA titles on the line as well.

When these two teams are in the same ring, they’re not going to disappoint. These guys are undisputedly in the top 5 tag teams in the world right now, and their chemistry together is fantastic. I think that we’re going to see FTR get their win back over the Young Bucks and defend both sets of tag titles on this occasion.

The Hardys vs The Butcher and The Blade – Tables Match

The Hardys have been on fire since the much anticipated debut of Jeff Hardy some weeks ago. It has reinvigorated Matt Hardy, and they look like they have one big run left in them. That’ll be put to the test on Wednesday night when the Hardy’s take on the Butcher and the Blade in a tables match.

Butcher and the Blade have kind of been lost in the shuffle with the AFO, being dominated by the Hardys, Sting and Darby Allin. But Andrade did score a big win over Darby Allin last week, and maybe B&B could build off of that.

I think the AFO winning streak will end already, because if there is any team comfortable in a tag tables match, it’s the Hardys. I expect Matt and Jeff to pick up another win in this match.

Adam Cole vs Christian Cage

This should be a great match up. Adam Cole has been on a tear lately and has been circling the AEW champion Hangman Adam Page for weeks. He’s also gotten reDRagon involved in the tag team title picture as well, and this is the reason for this match up.

Cole, Fish, and O’Reilly have been a thorn in the sides of Jurassic Express, and Wednesday, Christian Cage will have a chance to get some revenge on the leader of the Undisputed Elite.

This will be Christian’s first match since the face of the revolution ladder match, and if he can pull off a win against the #2 ranked competitor, that would do him wonders in terms of moving up the rankings.

Unfortunately for Cage, I don’t see him getting the win on Wednesday, and I predict another W for Adam Cole BayBay.

We also will have more qualification matches for both the men’s and women’s Owen Hart tournament. And of course, we’ll hear from the man of the hour, Samoa Joe.

All this and so much more can be seen on TBS (TSN in Canada) every Wednesday night at 8PM EST.
