Another Dynamite, another extremely packed show. Last week, Malakai Black teased that there might be a new member joining the House of Black, and with Malakai and Brody King in a tag match this week, could we see the debut of a new member to the AEW roster? We also have the tag team battle royale, two of the highest profile wrestlers in AEW go face-to-face, and the TBS champion has her next Challenger.
Malakai Black & Brody King vs PAC & Penta El Zero Miedo
This is a rematch of a contest we saw a couple of weeks ago, where Malakai Black and Brody King were victorious over 2/3 of Death Triangle, when Black would spit the mist in Penta‘s eyes. Will we get the same result this time around or will PAC and Penta get their revenge.
The big story surrounding this match is the vignette that AEW ran last week, where a blurry figure seemed to make their way into the House of Black. There has been plenty of speculation on who this could be, but the favourite right now is Buddy Matthews. If this is the case, AEW have got themselves one of the best pure wrestlers in the world, and arguably the best available free agents on the market.
Another part of this story that isn’t being talked about enough, is the little video we got of Penta digging up his old “Penta Dark” mask. This was a much more violent version of Penta that existed in Lucha Underground.
There is a lot of mystery involved in this story, and I’m really excited to see how it turns out. Will we get a new look for Penta? Will we be introduced to the third member of the House of Black? Will the new look Penta…be the third member!? so much to look forward to in this match, and I expect House of Black to pick up another win
Jade Cargill (C) vs The Bunny – TBS Title Match
This is a match that we got from a backstage segment from the last Rampage, where Matt Hardy and the Bunny confronted Mark Sterling and Jade Cargill and basically demanded a TBS title match. Cargill and Sterling saw this as an opportunity to make more money, and very arrogantly accepted the challenge. At the end of the segment, we also got another “extreme” hint that Jeff Hardy is on the way as well.
The Bunny is a very experienced wrestler, but I don’t think this will be the match that we see Jade’s Unbeaten streak come to an end. It’ll take something very special to beat Cargill for her title, and don’t think this is the moment. Expect Jade to retain.
Tag Team Battle Royale
There are several big name tag teams in AEW, and if we’re going by the AEW graphic set for this match, we’ll be getting 10 teams in the Battle Royale. FTR, Santana & Ortiz, and Best Friends are all set to be in this match, but I think the focus will be on two teams in particular.
Ever since reDRagon debuted in AEW, Adam Cole has been stuck in the middle it seems, between choosing the Young Bucks or O’Reilly and Fish. Cole doesn’t think this is an issue, and thinks everyone can get along. The Bucks and reDRagon’ actions and ambitions, would lead us to think otherwise. The two talented teams, have yet to get on the same page, and both have the goal of becoming the next tag team champions. This doesn’t bode well for Cole’s plan of one strong faction.
I think that because we already know that the tag title match at Revolution is going to be a triple threat, I think this gives the chance for both the Bucks and reDRagon a way to get their title match. I think one of these two teams win this week, and the other win next week, to give us Young Bucks vs reDRagon vs Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy at Revolution.
So far, that’s all we’ve heard for the matches for this week’s show. Pay attention to AEW Dark and Elevation for more potential match announcements. We also have a segment between Eddie Kingston and Chris Jericho, and I think this might be leading towards a match between the two at Revolution. There’s also a Bullet Club story that seems to be brewing around multiple wrestling promotions, and that story could also implicate the AEW champion, Hangman Page, I wonder if we’re going to get more on that story on this episode?
All this and so much more can be seen on TBS (TSN in Canada) every Wednesday night at 8PM EST.
