Week 20 Notepad The Wild Card weekend produced some unexpected results. I picked the Bills to win, but I thought the Patriots would cover. I was wrong; the Patriots got taken to the woodshed. The favoured Cowboys bumbled their way to a loss with penalties and game mismanagement. As a Giants fan, I hope McCarty is not fired. All the General Manager candidates the Giants interviewed were much better than Dave Gettleman. I’m encouraged by the selection of Joe Schoen as GM. Have a wonderful playoff weekend! |
Pop’s Playoff: Record Straight-up 4-2, and against the spread 4-2. |
Bengals (10-7) at Titans (12-5) Line: Titans are favoured by 3. Saturday, 4:30 p.m., CBS, Paramount+ Titans have had some frustrating inconsistencies during the season, and the Bengals had a good season but at times had losses to lesser teams. It looks like the Titans will get Derrick Henry back. Titans should win this game. Titans win and cover win. Titans lead series 40-35-1. |
49ers(10-7) at Packers (13-4) Line: Packers are favoured by 4.5. Saturday, 8:15 p.m., ET, FOX It’s going to be a cold, windy, and snowy night in Green Bay. The 49ers are a solid team with good defence and a running game. The problem is they are up against Aaron Rodgers, and it’s their bad luck. Packers win and cover. Packers lead series 38-32-1. |
Rams (12-5) at Bucs (13-4) Line: Bucs are favoured by 3. Sunday 3 p.m., ET (FOX) The Rams looked unbeatable against the Cardinals. Tampa quickly disposed of the Eagles. The Rams seem to know how to beat the Bucs as they have done in their last two meetings. The Rams do have the defence that can contain the Bucs. . The Rams are going to win a close game. Rams win. Rams lead Series 18-9-0. |
Bills (11-6) at Chiefs (12-5) Line: Chiefs are favoured by 2.5. Sunday 6:30 p.m., ET (CBS) The Bills were impressive in shutting down the Patriots by scoring on every drive except the last one, and they took a knee. Remarkable! After an early scare the Chiefs in Hank Stramm fashion matriculated up and down the field, and at the end, it was business as usual with the Chiefs putting down those pesky Steelers. The Bills are another story as they seem to be peeking at the right time. Carefully I am picking Bills are going to upset the Chiefs. The Bills win. Chiefs lead series 27-23-1. |
