NFL Picks

Pop’s Wild Card Picks

The winds of Black Monday came howling on the NFL and took some victims early in Denver, Minnesota, Chicago, Denver and Miami. Then next, it reared its ugly head in New York and made its way to Houston. Hopefully for the coaches and general managers that remain Black Monday wouldn’t re-appear until at the end of the 2022 season.  Have a wonderful wild card weekend!!

Raiders (10-7) at Bengals (10-7)
Line: Bengals are favoured by 5.5.
Saturday, 4:30 p.m. ET NBC
Raiders are ending a difficult season with inspired play led by the late John Madden. I’m sure that he is watching from up there. Raiders seem to have karma on their side and will continue to win.
Raiders win.
Raiders lead series 21-12-0.
Patriots(10-7) at Bills (11-6)
Line: Bills are favoured by 4.5.
Saturday, 8:15 p.m. ET CBS
It’s going to be pretty cold in Buffalo, but apparently, fans are not allowed to wear battery-powered clothing such as electric socks and long underwear. Interesting matchup teams are 1-1 this year, winning in each other’s stadium. The Bills have a better all-around team than the Patriots. The know-how, mystic and aura may not be enough to pull a victory away from the Bills. The Bills are stronger than the Patriots on the field.
Bills win and cover.
Patriots lead series 77-46-1.
Eagles (9-8) at Buccaneers (13-4)
Line: Bucs are favoured by 8.5.
Sunday 1 p.m. ET (FOX)
The weather forecast is windy and rainy in Tampa Bay, which will favour the running game. The Eagles have been running the ball and winning lately. The Bucs can also run the ball. Brady will remember and be replaying in his head how the Eagles beat him in the Super-bowl. He won’t let the Eagles beat him again.
Bucs win but don’t cover.
Series tied 10-10-0.
49ers (10-7) at Cowboys (12-5)
Line: Cowboys are favoured by 3.
Sunday 4:30 p.m. ET (CBS)
All aspects of team play are peeking in the right direction for the Cowboys, and their playmakers will continue to shine. The 49ers are a tough team with their own dynamic playmaker in Deebo Samuel.
The 49ers win.
Cowboys lead series 19-17-1.
Steelers(9-7-1) at Chiefs (12-5)
Line: Chiefs favoured by 8.5.
Sunday 8:15 p.m. ET (NBC)
The Chiefs have been playing great football of late on defence and offence. The Steelers have had the good fortune to find themselves in the playoffs. Their luck ends here as Chiefs trounce them.
Chiefs win cover.
Steelers lead series 23-13-0.
Cardinals (11-6) at Rams 12-5)
Line: Rams favoured by 4.
Monday 8:15 p.m. ET (ESPN)
The Cardinals and Rams have split the series this year. Rams have a lot of weapons. The Cardinals have a quarterback Kyle Murray who can punish defences in many different ways. Cardinals win the rubber match.
Cardinals win.
Rams lead series 46-39-2.
