Last week, we saw the debut of Kyle O’Reilly, This week we get to see his first match. AEW certainly didn’t wait long to put O’Reilly right in the mix, as he teams with old friends Bobby Fish, and Adam Cole to take on the Best Friends. We will also be getting another 6-man tag match, the second semi-final of the TBS tournament, and if all goes well, Jim Ross will be returning to the broadcast booth.
Adam Cole, Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly vs Orange Cassidy & Best Friends
Ever since Adam Cole made his AEW debut, he’s been attached to the Young Bucks, but last week Kyle O’Reilly showed up, and shocked the system. And we don’t have to wait long before we see the former Undisputed Era as a team in AEW. It’s not currently known if Cole is leaving the Bucks and joining Bobby Fish and O’Reilly, or if he’ll just flip flop between the two teams, but I’m all in for this story.
Taking on the reunited trio, will be Orange Cassidy and the Best Friends. Trent is also freshly back from being out of action for 8 months! He had a great return along with his mom, Sue. Unfortunately, I don’t see this match going to well for him and his Best Friends. I see Cole, Fish, and O’Reilly coming out victorious in this match, it’ll just be interesting to see how the Young Bucks get involved.
Thunder Rosa vs Jade Cargill – TBS tournament Semi-Finals
When this TBS tournament was announced, I was convinced that this was made to have Jade Cargill emerge as the breakout star. And even though the popularity of the Thunder Rosa right now is through the roof, I’m sticking to my gut, and I still think that Jade will win this match, and the whole tournament.
I think that AEW has lined up Thunder Rosa and Ruby Soho to make Jade look as strong as she possibly can with two of the best workers in the company. And if Jade does win, it’ll be a huge for her career. On the other hand, if Thunder Rosa does beat Jade, we’re in line for a fantastic match with Rosa and Soho. AEW have really set themselves up well for the conclusion of this tournament.
Eddie Kingston, Santana & Ortiz vs Daniel Garcia & 2point0
This match was set up from Daniel Garcia stealing a win against Eddie Kingston with a roll up that had Garcia grabbing Kingston’s tights. There was also so backstage attacks and Garcia even threw coffee in Kingston’s face. I think that we see some revenge for Eddie in this match, and it’s cool to see Kingston team up with his buddies Santana and Ortiz.
At first glance, it seems like an easy match to call, but just looking at the last time they were in the ring, Garcia and 2point0 caused a huge upset. I don’t see the same result here, and expect Kingston’s team to pick up the win.
Also announced for this week’s Dynamite, is the return of Jim Ross. He was away having skin cancer treatment, and he should be taking his spot back on the announce team this Wednesday.
All this and so much more can be seen on TNT (TSN in Canada) every Wednesday night at 8PM EST.
