After what was possibly the biggest PPV in AEW’s history, This will be the Dynamite that starts to build new feuds. Kenny Omega, Miro, and Britt Baker were all successful in their title defences, and now need new #1 contenders. The Lucha Bros are the brand new tag team champions, CM Punk was victorious in his first match in seven years, and we had four huge debuts including Ruby Soho, Minoru Suzuki, Adam Cole, and Brian Danielson! It was a big night on Sunday, but now we look forward to new stories starting up tonight. One of the four wrestlers that debut on Sunday will have their first match in AEW, we’ll hear from the Casino Battle Royale winner, and Malakai Black takes on another member of the Nightmare Family.
All this and so much more, and here is where we’ll break it all down.
Jon Moxley vs Minoru Suzuki
I don’t think there is anyone who enjoys wrestling that isn’t a fan of the forbidden door. It gave us another great match on Sunday, when AEW’s Jon Moxley took on NJPW’s Satoshi Kojima. It was a hard hitting match that Jon Moxley emerged as the winner. As Mox was showing respect to the Japanese legend, another Japanese legend’s music started to play. Having Minoru Suzuki show up at All Out was a shock to most, and right away, Suzuki and Moxley started trading strikes. Suzuki would get the better of the exchange, and eventually hit Jon Moxley with the Gotch style piledriver. I figured this would set up a match down the line, but there is no way I thought it would be so soon.
This match up will be the second time that these two men have fought one-on-one. The first time they met, Jon Moxley was able to successfully defend his IWGP US title against Suzuki. This time the match will happen in an AEW ring, and it’ll be in Jon Moxley’s hometown of Cincinnati.
I think that Moxley will be the winner on this occasion as well, with it being his hometown and all, AEW usually let the hometown heroes go over. However, you never know with Minoru Suzuki, as this guy is one of the scariest dudes in professional wrestling. One thing that is for sure, is that this will be one stiff match.
Malakai Black vs Dustin Rhodes
Malakai Black has been running through all the Nightmare Family since his arrival, and it doesn’t seem like he’s done just yet. The next name that is on Black’s chopping block, is the Natural, Dustin Rhodes. The one difference between Dustin Rhodes and the rest of the Nightmare Family, is that the Natural is seemingly showing no fear towards Black. Black is fantastic with mind games, and I love that he basically beat Brock Anderson before the bell even rang by getting into the youngster’s head. That’s why this is a cool match, as Dustin Rhodes is a long time veteran who is no stranger to mind games.
This one seems like a fairly easy one to call, as a win here for Dustin Rhodes would be meaningless, and it would derail all the momentum that Malakai Black has been building. With that being said, I see Black winning this match, and the way this storyline is going, it seems like Malakai will continue to beat each member of the Nightmare Family until the eventual return of Cody Rhodes.
So far the only other segment that is announced at the time of writing this, is that we will hear from the Casino Battle Royale winner, Ruby Soho. It’ll be her first appearance live on Dynamite. Hopefully we’ll here from either CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Adam Cole, Chris Jericho, and tons of others…What a time to be a wrestling fan.
All this and so much more can be seen on TNT (TSN in Canada) every Wednesday night at 8PM EST.
