Chicago White Sox Win Off Walk Off Homer by Tim Anderson In The Field of Dreams

Only in the Field of Dreams would we have seen an ending like the one we saw in Iowa tonight between the Yankees and White Sox. This game had so much going for it. The throwback uniforms, the nostalgic Field of Dreams park and betting 1.5 units on the Yankees +1000.

The Yankees made the comeback down 7-4 heading into the 9th inning. Home Runs from Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton allowed them to take the lead 8-7 heading into the bottom of the 9th. Zack Britton gets subbed in with the win in his hand, all he needed to do was close it out and let his infield make the plays required to come out with the win . Danny Mendick grounds out to second base where D.J LeMahieu calmly completes the out. ONE DOWN! Seby Zavala comes out and Britton walks him off a full count. It’s ok, double play ends the game. Tim Anderson steps up and rails a walk off homerun to end the game.

The White Sox looked great tonight and the Yankees showed they are still a force in the AL. Other than losing a bet to a guy who’s name is more of a stock broker’s than of a ball player’s, it was fun to watch.
