Diego Sanchez Fears for His Life After Being Released by the UFC

The UFC has been on a fighter release rampage and one of the biggest, but not surprising, casualties was TUF 1 winner, Diego Sanchez. Diego Sanchez was recently on Sirius XM MMA Today, where he went on a 40 minute rant about his he fears for his life.

“I’m going to tell you guys frankly right now, I’m fearful for my motherf*cking life,” The fighter was very vocal about the promotion that paid hi for sixteen years. “I’m fearful that this company, this billion-dollar company monopoly, worldwide, is going to come after me. Something might happen to me in two years. Maybe in a couple years. Maybe I wreck my truck. Maybe I, ‘Oh, Diego overdosed, some suicide sh*t.’ I don’t know. But I would not put anything past the level of evil that is within this corporation.”

The MMA community has been very worried about Diego and what he’s been going through. His coach/manager Josh Fabia is one of the most hated guys in the sport. People don’t believe what he’s preaching. Fabia has gone after UFC commentators and staff because of the narrative that the internet has placed on him. The self proclaimed “Guru” has never fought and hasn’t accomplished anything in this sport, yet he demands respect from people that don’t know him.

Large criticism came when Fabia told Diego Sanchez in a round where he clearly lost that Sanchez won. Joe Rogan and Daniel Cormier, who were on the call that night, were visibly critical of the bad advice that Fabia gave his fighter. Fabia has also gone public accusing Dana White and Sean Shelby of sleeping with female fighters and accused UFC President of sexual harassment. Maybe that’s why Sanchez fears for his life.

What we don’t always see are the toxic managers and coaches of some of these fighters, we can now see this as it happens because Fabia is documenting it. He’s basically giving everyone the ammo to rip him for things he doesn’t want to be ripped on about. Fabia is constantly interrupting Sanchez’s interviews to talk about himself and how people don’t respect him and making himself the centre of attention. How can the MMA community respect this guy when these are his training methods? If you don’t know this story than do yourself a favour join the rabbit hole on YouTube exposing this snake oil salesman for what he is.

The MMA world is a tight knit community and you need to prove your worth. Fabia hasn’t proven anything other than he has thin skin and he cares more about his own voice than the one of his fighter. Diego Sanchez has fought in the UFC for sixteen years and was the first every TUF winner. He’s a free agent now and hopefully he can find promotion that will take him on.
