UFC 260: Stipe vs Ngannou was meant to be stacked but losing the Featherweight Title match between Ortega and Volkanovski was not what we wanted. I, personally, circled that fight myself a while back. The public loses big time! Ortega vs Volk would’ve most likely been Fight of the Night, but don’t worry there are plenty of chances to make some money here…the odds are preposterous.
I hope you like the new format of picks.
Stipe Miocic (20-3) vs Francis Ngannou (15-3)
The last time Ngannou and Stipe fought we saw the Champ dominate and apply a flawless gameplan. Stipe exposed Ngannou’s, lack there of, wrestling and boxing skills. Up until that point, Ngannou had not even sniffed the third round other than his second pro fight where he lost via decision. Stipe on the hand, has been fighting at championship level since he defeated Fabricio Werdum for the Heavyweight Title in 2016. Everyone and their uncle will say that Ngannou looks like he’s improved and we have no reason to doubt him. Ngannou is fairly knew to fighting so he definitely has improved while has been learning on the go but we can’t forget how Stipe exposed Ngannou’s boxing. The only skill that Ngannou had was boxing but he was chasing power punches and while he landed a few, Stipe wasn’t even affected. OK so get ready for a S*** show of betting odds. UFC 260 is a gambler’s dream. The lines are all over the place with massive pay days.
Safe Pick: Stipe via Decision +450
Sweet Pick: Ngannou R2 finish +500
Money Pick: Stipe R4 finish +2500
Tyron Woodley (19-6-1) vs Vicente Luque (19-7-1)
UFC 260 gives us one of the most underrated and overlooked fights of the year so far. Woodley has so much to prove and has an extremely tough matchup vs Vicente Luque. Luque is coming off of two stoppage wins after losing to Stephen Wonderboy Thompson. Luque is a brawler so this fight makes the most sense for him. Three losses in a row is screaming snip city for the former champ. We can assume that if Woodley loses this one, that he will get the snip and join the likes of his teammate Anthony Pettis. Tyron Woodley is in need of a convincing win, and that is why we should anticipate a great fight. Woodley loves to fight off his back foot and loves to throw heavy counter punches but Luque is an awful matchup for Woodley because Luque thrives under pressure. Luque likes to walk down his opponents while seeing Woodley struggle against similar styles ruin him. His fights vs Colby and Burns had that exact game plan.
Safe Pick: Luque via Decision +150
Sweet Pick: Woodley via Decision +400
Money Pick: Woodley R3 finish +2800
Quick Picks UFC 260
Thomas Almeida vs Sean O’Malley: O’Malley R2 finish +425
Gillian Robertson vs Miranda Maverick: Maverick via Submission +800
