Terry Bad Beats: UFC Fight Night Belal Muhammad vs Leon Edwards

Looking at this card and I see so many names that I like. SO many guys that I would pay to watch: Matheus Nicolau, Angela Hill vs Ashley Yoder, Nasrat Haqparat, Eryk Anders Dan Ige and who can ignore the Canadians Misha Cirkunov, Gavin Tucker and Charles Jourdain. I’ve reached out to Jourdain a few times to come on my show but no answer. One day Charles! One day. I remember when you were a young kid training under the Louis-Philippe Gauthier from Gracie Barra Montreal. Hoping you can come on before you make it really big and become a household name. Sorry that was my cheesy and very cringe attempt at getting Charles to come on the show.

Now for my bets, I’m feeling generous so I’ll give you 4 of my picks. I thought Adesanya would win but I did take Blachowicz by decsision at +800 and won that. I assumed that Nunes had baby brain and wasn’t focused but forgot that her hands never lost power. I could never have predicted what happened for the bantamweigt title. But I wasn’t far off. Aljo did end the fight in the 4th round but not in the way i bet on. Here they are for this weekend’s action

Dan Ige vs Gavin Tucker

This fight! This f*****g fight will be fight of the night. Not a lot of people know who Gavin Tucker is but Dan Ige has a big name. I expect this to be a war, going all over the place, back and forth, ground to striking… you name it. Ige is the more refined fighter but Tucker is 4-1 in the UFC since making his debut in 2017 vs Sam Sicilia where he has two wins by submission and two Unanimous decisions. Ige coming off a loss to Calvin Kattar just slowed him down but Ige is legit blackbelt and has excellent hands. This fight will hit the ground and I’m sure will end there by Ige.

Dan Ige via Submission +715 and/or Ige winning in the 3rd +1200

Angela Hill vs Ashley Yoder

Great matchup that was scheduled in February but was postponed due to Yoder’s cornermen getting COVID-19. Hill has lost two fights in a row to Michelle Waterson one of which (Gadelha) I thought she won. This is the second time that Yoder and Hill will fight. The first time being on TUF: Redemption Finale where Hill won a Unanimous decision. Yoder is still fresh off a win in November of 2020 but not sure how she will fait vs Angela Hill again. In my honest opinion I think this is a bad matchup for Yoder, Hill will push to the cage and grind for three rounds. Yoder does a lot of damage in distance or on the ground, which are areas that Hill loves to avoid.

Hill via TKO +400

But if you’re feeling frisky Yoder straight up is +290

Davey Grant vs Jonathan Martinez

This isn’t even fair how the line is so crooked in the wrong direction. Or for us, the right direction. Davey Grant being a 4 point underdog is nuts. Grant is a tough guy with excellent ground game. No disrespect to Marttinez but it’s actually ridiculous how much value there is on Grant. +290??? That’s nuts

Davey Grant win outright +290 and/or by submission +1000

Belal Muhammad vs Leon Edwards

As soon as this fight was announced I got so excited my pants got tighter. Belal is a huge hypetrain right after his decision victory over Dhiego Lima. Leon finally gets a fight after Khamzat kept getting sidelined. Rumours that Colby accepted a fight with Leon weren’t true. mAsvidal not answering the call and much more. Finally leon takes this fight vs Belal. He has nothing to gain and everything to lose taking thsi fight. It’s the first time that Bela is ranked and he gets the #3 Welterweight in the world. This fight is not going to the ground, it’ll stay standing with Belal applying most of the pressure. This will go 5 rounds but who will win is iffy. Let’s look at options and value. I like that Belal is +185 and +300 to win by decision. On the otehr side Leon to win the 4th is +1400. I think Leon wins the fight but my money is on the dog.

Belal via decision +300 and/or outright +185

Thanks for reading. If you liked my last piece here is my interview with Aiemann Zahabi. What a great guy ! Can’t wait to have him on again.
