Terry's Theories Weekend Ramblings

Why Dak Why??? The Dallas Cowboys suck! Mike Mccarthy sucks! after losing to the Cleveland Browns 49-38

Disclaimer: The Featured Image is not a depiction of what Cowboys fans look like after today’s game. I got home a from a nice walk and coffee with a friend, only to see that the Dallas Cowboys let the Cleveland Browns take a 31-14 lead before half. I wasn’t too worried because I know what Dak Prescott can do under pressure and in a deficit. In the first three games this season Dak passed Tom Brady for most passing yards in as many games. He is playing well where the Cowboys defense isn’t.

Basically me after that Onside Kick

I can’t say I was excited to have Mccarthy as HC in Dallas but I knew the offense would thrive regardless. Kellen Moore is a good play caller, has a good relationship with Dak and the offensive weapons are second to none:Lamb, Gallup, Zeke, Cooper, Pollard and Dak. The offensive line is a bit banged up but a few the young guys like Rookie Tyler Biadasz have stepped up and played well.

Going into the 4th quarter, the Browns lead by 27 points and I had still had hope for the Boys. How they would pull it off? No F*****G clue. The Cowboys drive and backup RB Tony Pollard runs in for a TD, followed by a 2pt convert by Zeke, it’s 41-22. 3 and out and the Cowboys get the ball back, big TD down the middle to TE Schultz, 2pt convert run by Dak and its 41-30 with just over 6 minutes. The Browns take over and and for some reason the Cowboys burn two timeouts and go 2 and out. The Cowboys get the ball march and Dak completes a TD to Rookie Ceedee Lamb along witha 2pt convert to Cooper. BAM! 41-38 with over 3 minutes left.

This is where I lose my mind, We see the Special Teams coach walk up to Mccarthy and he shakes his head YES. I have no clue what that YES means but it subsequently means to go for an onside kick and give the ball back to the Browns at the 50! What do you think happened next? OBJ who has sucked so bad this year, takes a handoff to the house and extends the lead to 9. The Browns go for the extra point and it’s BLOCKED! Jaylon Smith tries to return it but the ball rolls into the end zone for a 2pt conversion. 11 point lead at the two minute warning. Cowboys drive the ball and Dak throws an INT to Denzel Ward, pass intended for Cooper. Cooper looked exhausted and didn’t even run his route.

Who do I blame? The defense and DC Mike Nolan, John Fassel Special Teams Coordinator and Mike Mccarthy!!! Mike Mccarthy!!! The man that can’t stop overthinking. No need to waste timeouts there. No need to onside kick. The Cowboys fall to 1-3 now when they should be 3-1 and I hate my life now.
