Dak Prescott has been offered more money then anyone in the history of football and he’s still holding out. I do respect anyone trying to get their market value and not take 1$ less than what he should. But, and there’s a big BUT! You’ve been offered THE MOST FUCKING MONEY EVER AND YOU DIDN’T EVEN MAKE THE FUCKING PLAYOFFS LAST YEAR.
The Dallas Cowboys finished 8-8 in 2019 and I have no idea how. Obviously I’m a Cowboys fan and a very passionate one at that. I’m also a very realistic fan. For as long as I can remember, they have had issues in the secondary. Byron Jones is the last DB they drafted and he just left to Miami in free agency. 2020 will be very interesting to say the least.
Key Losses: Byron Jones signed with Miami Dolphins, Travis Frederick retired, Robert Quinn signed with the Chicago Bears and Jeff Heath signed with the Las Vegas Raiders. The one that hurts the most is Byron Jones. They replaced him with Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. Byron Jones was the least penalized player two years ago. He had ZERO PI calls against him in 2018. Also a huge loss was Travis Frederick, but they drafted a big centre to replace Frederick from Wisconsin in Tyler Biadasz.
Key Additions: Ceedee Lamb 1st round WR, Gerrald Mccoy DT, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix CB. Ceedee Lamb is considered to be the best receiver in the 2020 NFL Draft as he joins an already nice receiving core with Michael Gallup and Amari Cooper. Ha Ha Clinto Dix joins his third team in the NFL as a quick replacement of probowler Byron Jones. Gerrald Mccoy adds experience and depth to an already stacked D-Line with Demarcus Lawrence, Trysten Hill, Randy Gregory and also newly acquired Aldon Smith.
The Dallas Cowboys had one of the most potent offenses in the NFL last year finishing 2nd in Total Offense. The Cowboys finished 2nd in passing offense (2nd in yards and 3rd in TDs), 5th in rushing offense and 11th in scoring. I couldn’t tell you how many times they couldn’t score when they should’ve. Hopefully Ceedee can help with that. The Defense on the other hand, was very mediocre finishing 11th in most categories and only forcing 7 INTs all season. Rumours of a trade with Jets to acquire Jamal Adams (currently my favourite player in the league). I hope this happens.
Here is my prediction for the season. I will be very honest and as unbiased as I can. This is my first look at the schedule so it’s as raw as you can get.
Week 1 @ LA Rams -WIN – Dak will have a lot of pressure after signing his new big deal. Mccarthy’s first game for Big D and it will be a rough one vs an eager Rams team that’s fighting to get back into the Super Bowl. Tight win on Sunday Night Football.
Week 2 vs Atlanta Falcons- Win – First Home Game. I like the Cowboys run offense this year. The addition of Lamb will aid Zeke in the run game. Atlanta is in an awkward stage and in kind of a rebuild.
Week 3 @ Seattle Seahawks – Loss – I think the Seahawks will be a huge threat to everyone on the NFC this year. Wilson will have a good day vs a Cowboys secondary that is sketchy.
Week 4 vs Cleveland Browns – Win – Although I do believe that the Browns will have a great season and finally make the playoffs, I think they will face a tough Cowboys DLine and Pass offense in Dallas.
Week 5 vs NY Giants – Win – First game in the division vs a young Giants team and their “new computers”. Big Win for America’s Team.
Week 6 vs Arizona Cardinals – Win – 3rd home game in a row and this one takes place on Monday Night. I like Kyler Murray and think he will be a great QB. Tight win vs a young inexperienced Cardinals team on primetime.
Week 7 @ Washington Redskins – Win – Washington is on a rebuild and have no hope this year. Who will be the starting QB? The Cowboys will be rolling at this point and will win in Washington.
Week 8 @ Philadelphia Eagles – Loss – The Cowboys will come up short in Philadelphia on Sunday Night and be brought down to earth. Second away divisional game in a row. The Eagles Matchup will be a problem for the Cowboys this year.
Week 9 vs Pittsburgh Steelers – Loss – Pittsburgh will bring in the noise and pain in this game. I foresee them being in a divisional battle with the Ravens and Browns, this will make sure they light a fire up their asses vs the Cowboys.
Week 10 Bye
Week 11 @ Minneota Vikings – Win – Coming off a bye and walking into Vikings territory, it will be a hard fought game but the overpaid Cousins will choke under the pressure.
Week 12 vs Washington Redskins – Win – The Redskins will have something to prove after getting ruined by the Cowboys in Week 7. Cowboys sweep the series.
Week 13 @ Baltimore Ravens – Loss – It would’ve been a disgrace to not have this game on primetime. Thursday night Football though… This game will be nuts and should be on Monday Night. Ravens run all over the Cowboys and defense shuts down the Cowboys Pass game.
Week 14 @ Cincinnati Bengals – Win – Bengals on a rebuild with a rookie QB. Dalton shows up on the other sidelines at Paul Brown stadium. He might be able to get on the field in garbage time after the Cowboys stomp the Bengals.
Week 15 vs San Francisco 49ers – Win – This one is so tough. I sat down and looked at this game on the schedule and tried to imagine how the Cowboys can win. I do think that this is the best matchup vs the 49ers. The way the Cowboys play and the strength of their O-line will help them remedy the attack of the 49ers defensive line.
Week 16 vs Philadelphia Eagles – Loss – The Eagles and Cowboys will be battling all year for the division. It’s too easy and disrespectful of me to not give the edge to the Eagles. They are a good team that have gone through an identity change since they won the Super Bowl three years ago. They sweep my boys.
Week 17 @ NY Giants – Win – Giants come into AT&T Stadium on the outside looking in. The Cowboys will need this win to either clinch a wildcard in a tough NFC or to clinch the division after losing to the Eagles twice.
Dallas Cowboys finish 11-5 and are in the playoffs. Dak feels relief for a second but then realized, that he will need to win in the playoffs to earn his money.
