The release of the NFL 2020 schedule has brought a new round of pessimism among some Giant supporters. The Giants are already in the discussion of having a top ten pick in the 2021 draft. I am going to take a different view of the 2020 season as far as the Giants are concerned. In the NFL, good coaching is a crucial factor in determining the success of a team. I have a lot of confidence in Coach Joe Judge. The new and competent Giant coaching staff is a significant upgrade over the previous staff. I believe that rookie Head Coach Judge will lead the Giants to a winning record and a playoff spot in the 2020 season.
I thought that the Giants were poorly prepared to compete in almost every game they played last year. They were disorganized on defense and far too predictable on offense. In the past two years, the Giants were competitive but lost many games that they were in a position to win. In the 2020 season, the Giants improved roster will be helpful, but ultimately what will make the difference will be vast enhancements in the following areas; game preparation, player development, use of personnel, roster and practice squad formation, and most importantly game management.
I’m going to go on record right now and predicting that this Giants team will make the playoffs after ending the 2020 season 10 and 6.
Date | Game | Record | Comment |
Monday, Sept. 14 | Steelers at Giants | 1-0 | At this point, I don’t know who the Steelers are. They have been hot and cold recently. Giants will make their fans happy and win the opener. |
Sunday, Sept. 20 | Giants at Bears | 2-0 | The Bears were supposed to be good last year but weren’t. The Giants will find a way to win this game. |
Sunday, Sept. 27 | 49ers at Giants | 2-1 | The 49ers are an excellent team. Are they still licking their wounds over a Super-bowl loss? Maybe, but they’ll win this one. |
Sunday, Oct. 4 | Giants at Rams | 2-2 | The Rams will be rebounding from last year’s mediocre season and will win this game. |
Sunday, Oct. 11 | Giants at Cowboys | 3-2 | Upsets happen all the time. Giants will stun the talented Cowboys. |
Sunday Oct. 18, | Redskins at Giants | 4-2 | Confident Giants will win a close one at home. |
Thursday, Oct. 22 | Giants at Eagles | 4-3 | As much as I would like this to be a victory, it won’t. Sadly the Eagles will win. |
Monday, Nov. 2 | Bucs at Giants | 5-3 | The Bus are going to continue to be over-hyped. When they start playing, reality will soon set in. Giants beat Brady without Eli. |
Sunday, Nov. 8 | Giants at Redskins | 5-4 | The Redskins will be an improved team and play hard for their new coach and split the series. |
Sunday, Nov. 15 | Eagles at Giants | 6-4 | Finally! Giants will beat the Eagles. |
Bye week | |||
Sunday, Nov. 29 | Giants at Bengals | 7-4 | The Bengals have improved, but not enough. Giants win at home again. |
Sunday, Dec. 6 | Giants at Seahawks | 7-5 | Giants will lose in Seattle. It will be close, but ultimately the Seahawks will prevail. |
Sunday, Dec. 13 | Cardinals at Giants | 8-5 | Cardinals have a lot of firepower. But on this blustery December day in the Meadowlands, the Giants will win. |
Sunday, Dec. 20 | Browns and Giants | 9-5 | Will Beckham be still playing for the Browns? It won’t matter because by then the Browns will be in self-destruction mode. The Giants will win. |
Sunday, Dec. 27 | Giants at Ravens | 9-6 | At this point the Ravens are not a team, the Giants, could beat. |
Sunday, Jan. 3 | Cowboys at Giants | 10-6 | Giants will beat the Cowboys and sweep the series. |
