NFC South: Panthers bolster defense and Brady gets protection

Carolina Panthers

The addition of DT Derrick Brown and Yetur Gross-Matos was HUGE. Their defensive line projects to be monstrous is a couple of years with those 2 disrupting the trenches. They also helped out their secondary with S Jeremy China and CB Troy Pride Jr. Overall a pretty defensive oriented draft for them

Draft grade: A

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers didn’t waste any time and picked up the best available right tackle to protect Tom Brady with OT Tristian Wirfs. They also added a first round talent in the second round with S Antoine Winfield Jr. Fun fact, his dad (Antoine Winfield Sr) intercepted Tom Brady, feeling old yet?

Draft grade: B

New Orleans Saints

They arguably added the best center in the draft with Cesar Ruiz, who is projected to go on many pro bowls in the future. They then moved up in 3rd round to pick up Zack Baun who surprisingly dropped that deep in the draft.

Draft grade: A-

Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons added CB A.J Terrell who was getting burned a lot in college and many Falcons fans were upset with the pick (watch his tape). In the 2nd round, they’ve added a modest DT Marlon Davidson who was playing next to Derrick Brown in Auburn, he was the run blocker while Brown was the disruptive interior lineman. Overall a pretty average draft for them.

Draft grade: B-
